The title says it all. This yet another random post which i have some idea of what i want to type but that’s about it. What i wanted to type about at first was actually uss which i went to on tues during ndp but somehow or rather i thought of something else which i should type first. Its something like voluntary response sampling, unless its something that someone has a really strong feeling or emotion to type it, noone is going to post it. So either way, i had the urge to type something last night but somehow i got tired and gave up. However, this morning when i’m typing this, somehow or rather i totally forgot what i wanted to type so…
First things first, i kinda lost the map layout so i’m just going to type based off PURE memory which in most cases have lots of blanks here and there. Either way, i went to uss with my parents on tues. By the way, uss is unversal studio jic you still don’t know. Just before that i just remembered about the number of photos that was taken. I have absolutely no idea since when did my mom start to love taking photos so much… i’ve got nothing wrong with the camera, just something wrong with the way she permutates the number of people in the photograph with almost every single backdrop. When we first came out of the car and followed this pretty long escalator, there was the usual oversized globe spinning round and round. Then the camera came out and the first backdrop which i could remember was obviously the globe.
Pop quiz, assuming the globe has the words “universal studio” spinning around it and at each time, only 8 letters can be seen (negligible spacing between words). There are only parents and my sis there. At one point of time, there must be at least one person in the picture and one cameraman(don’t include asking someone else to help take the picture). Count the number of DIFFERENT photos that can be taken.
I was so bored waiting there for every single shot to be taken that i actually started solving that in my head just to estimate about how much longer do i have to wait before we can actually go in. By wait i didn’t mean the queue, there obviously wasn’t any… When we finally went in, there was this long row of shops which is supposed to represent Hollywood. There, we had to be in the photo of every single shop, every single new cosplay that came out, and every single vehicle which was actually food stores. It was almost half and hour in and i could actually still see the entrance gate… At the first bend, there was this store which looked totally like an american fast food drive in. Just so happens there were an entire row of vintage cars there… i don’t think i even need to add a guess what here… It was really really long in before we reached the first attraction which was the twister show i think. The effects which they used to make the scene was pretty funny lol. There was this tv as usual which would be reporting the news about a twister and you would simple watch the dock being blown apart. Window panes flying out, support pillars caving in, just before ending there was also a cruise crashing into the dock. Pretty nice effects.
After the show, we came out somewhere which i didn’t know, since the exit was actually one of the locked doors of a random “shop”. The streets of newyork was filled with fake shops so we just appeared to have came out of one. Actually it was more like an alley, in which case there was simply more photos with every single door, staircase and wall… Just imagine how would you feel when you are right next to all the attractions and you just can’t go on them yet because of the most ridiculous abuse of an amazing invention. Finally after a long long time, we reached sci-fi city at last… So me and my sis ditched my parents to go on the rollercoaster while they can go take all the photos they want such that when we get back we can move on. The battlestar galactica roller coaster has 2 different tracks, the human and the cyclon. The human one apparently looks less scary since it was in a sitting position as compared to the cyclon where your legs would be left dangling throughout the entire ride. Obviously i took human duh. Scary at first try, in fact i teared abit, but it was damn fun so we simply went once more. This time it was just funny watching how the three kids who was a row behind us started crying really badly when they got off. Too bad my voice went abit soar from all the screaming ><
Next up was the mummy of course. We took this indoor coaster ride which was supposed to go into the pyramid and look for book of the living. The ride was slow at first just simply showing all the opening scenes for the show. After that some weird looking thing (sk wearing necrolyte’s cloths)appeared and the coaster knocked into a screen which showed lots and lots of bugs pouring out. Then the coaster reversed so fast it was scary. Then it was typical merry go round with flashing lights until suddenly the weird looking thing appeared and said you’ve been saved by the book of the living but you won’t be so lucky next time. Next ride was this lame buggy ride that showed fake snakes, fake crocodiles, fake hippos, fake bugs… More like a relaxer if you ask me.
Jurassic park was in fact very very similar to the one i went to about 9 nines years ago at japan. The water works show was EXACTLY the same (obviously one was in the english the other in jap…), but it was still nice though, watching all the explosions and before falling from freaking high up all the way to the water. The opening was pretty funny as the performers decided to waste abit of water by getting all the people in the front seats wet. Just so happens there was this guy who i bet came here too many times already and brought an umbrella with him such that whenever someone shot water at him he would simply open the umbrella and troll the performers. Being the uber performers they are they simply gank him from behind. Then he got pissed and went to the stage area and filled a bucket of water which obviously landed on the performers head. It was damn funny watching them him get gank again this time with 3 performers each carrying a bucket of water. Too bad for all the old ah ma who happened to sit around him since the performers simply decided to just spray that entire area soaking wet.
The jurassic park ride was almost of same as the japan one except for the boat since singapores was a round floating raft while japans one was a normal coaster. The ride was just moving through jurassic park until an incident occurred where the carnivorous dinosaurs ran free and finally a one on one with the t-rex. Right after would be the big drop out of no where and splash, everyone’s wet. Only thing that’s not so fun about this is that the drop was minimal, an unattached raft can’t possibly be used to fall from high spots since it would flip making the drop be not that scary. There was another ride which was a seemed to be a nice ride around the area for sightseeing. HOWEVER, one thing that i started to find weird is that even though i see the tracks everywhere, they just doesnt seem to have anyone flying on it yet. To make it worst, i keep hearing screams appearing out of nowhere and suddenly disappearing. Finally when i boarded that thing, all the stuff above can be explained. Firstly, the flyer thing actually went up VERY high. Imagine climbing stairs all the way up and straight after boarding the flyer acted just like a coaster and went even higher. The flyer then started to fly past the tracks really quickly explaining why i just can’t seem to see anyone on it, just random screams :P Last attraction there would be the kiddy ride on the pteranodon or something like that. Spin round and round the tree thing, imagine merry go round in which you can actually adjust when you want to go up or down. To actually add more kick into it. I pressed the button until it went all the way up before releasing it hoping it would drop down real fast to add in some kick. However, or rather say obviously, it didn’t work. It dropped uber slowly and when it hit the ground, i mean it hit the ground, it starter jerking like mad since it was basically scraping on the floor already.
Lunch there was actually pretty bad. We got totally trolled by the oasis name cafe in at the mummy area. Even on the paper it states egyptian food, too bad we went in and it was just simply indian food ffffffuuuuuuuu. When we were done with lunch, we went (to) far far away. Shrek area jic you were just like me and thinks that shrek should be somewhere like ogre swamp or something. Either way, there we watched a performance called donkey live. It was amazingly terrible. I don’t understand whats so nice about talking to a donkey on the screen, i mean it, screen, i totally expected it to be a real cosplay donkey so kinda disappointed there. Looks more like a kids program if you ask me. The 4D movie there was really good though. There was this part where the spider dropped on the ground and ALOT of spiders jumped out on the movie screen and on my legs too. The whole cinema shrieked so much it funny. By the way it was just a brush that was scraping the legs that’s all. There was also the horse ride and the donkey sneezing on your face which was kinda expected already but still worth experiencing.
Madagascar was in fact the most stupid one i’ve seen among them all. This time it was a merry go round, literally except that you get to sit on the old hag with the bag and all the random animals. By the way after the ride ended we were forced to sit on the merry go round awhile more for pictures until the ride attendant had to read “please move it move it to the exit” multiple times. There was this other ride which was just running through the madagascar story until the end where there was a water wall which was in the path. Everyone on board wtf-ed when they saw it. In the end water wall opened up for us to pass through luckily. After there was a street performance with all the random animals jumping and dancing for about 5 minutes before lots a phototaking again.
Finally we finished almost everything there. Next up would be to wait for the monster rock show to begin withing the next 30 minutes. While waiting so happens there was this performance at the cafe with lots of vintage cars i was talking about just now. There was like 4 guys on stage singing and playing with the fake mics. So happens there was this old guy who usually dances at clark quay appeared there too and joined them in the dancing. It was really random and funny watching them playing around. After that would be monster rock. It was basically all your typical villians performing a rock musical. Apparently, i remembered someone telling me that the performance was not made for children since it shows bride flirting. And it was really true, she was supposed to be with frankenstein but when he wasn’t around she was flirting with dracula. Totally children friendly eh?
By the time we were done, it was 7+ already and we were late for dinner which we reserved a sit at for sushi tei for. HOWEVER, anyone noticed that sushi tei doesn’t allow reservings :P It was totally a mystery how that happened since my sis gave my dad the number for sushi tei and my dad called to reserve a sit. However, they wasn’t any record of it and it the workers there clearly stated that they have never ever allowed reservations. the joke came a while later when there was this steak house which was next to sushi tei at serangoon garden called and asked if we were still coming…
I think somewhere at the top of this post i said it was in the morning but right now obviously it is in the afternoon already. See how long i take to type this :P loljk obviously not, had to renew passport so i went down to ica for the past long long time to get it. Actually now i really wonder what would happen to the tioman trip since i gave them the number for my old passport…
